At the paparazzi-filled press conference on Tuesday, after the mayor had announced Lighthouse instructor Nick Arvin’s novel, Articles of War, as the One-Book, One-Denver choice, perhaps sensing the occasion of it all, he stepped back up to the podium. “I guarantee if you read this book, it will be the best book you’ve read all year.” Nick may have paled a bit, but you gotta love it when the mayor of your city loves your book enough to make “the guaranatee.” Lighthouse has a limited number of hardback copies of Articles of War available for members to buy ($12) for the occasion.
